General Rules Section Section 1 Bodies
G.1 Bodies must be complete and equipped with trunk lids, hoods and fenders before the start of each race date. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. G.2 Cars must be painted to look presentable as determined by Tech Inspector. G.3 Grills must be original or meshed in. G.4 1/8” lexan may replace windshield or rear window glass. G.5 Trunk lids and hoods must be secured with retainer pins. Original locks, bolts, etc are not permitted. G.6 Dirt Bars or Rub Rails maximum 1 ¼” outside measurement hugging body line may be used. Rails may be placed between wheel well openings and front and rear of openings to bumpers. Bar ends are to taper into the body to prevent catching onto or hooking another vehicle. Rebar rub rails not allowed.
Section 2 Roll Cages G.7 Roll cages must be constructed of steel tubing or pipe with a minimum wall thickness of .095” and a minimum inside diameter of 1 5/8”. G.8 Roll cages must be minimum 6 point construction with 4 upright tubes, adequately cross-braced at the top and sides with braces from the rear uprights back to the frame. A minimum of three tubes must be mounted over the driver’s door, between the front and rear uprights and two tubes in the passenger door. Driver door bars must be plated with a minimum of 1/8” steel plate. G.9 Roll cages must completely enclose the driver, and a minimum of 3“ clearance is recommended between the top of the driver’s helmet and the top of the roll cage. G.10 Roll cage assembly and installation must be by electric weld of professional quality, with gussets at points of maximum stress as determined by the technical Inspector. G.11 Roll bar padding is recommended around driver.
Section 3 Safety Equipment
G.12 All cars must be equipped with an operative metal head fire extinguisher of at least 2 ½ pound net weight, dated for current calendar year, and securely fastened to the car within easy reach of the driver. G.13 All vehicles must have a proper safety harness of at least 4 point construction (5 point recommended) with one hitch/release point. Harness must be securely attached to the frame of roll cage using mounting bolts of original equipment or equal quality. If belts are secured to plate or angle brackets welded to the frame or roll cage, these must be minimum 1/4” thickness. Inertia reel seat belts are NOT permitted. G.14 Drivers seat must be type and secured as stated for division car will compete in. G.15 Vehicles must run stock 12 volt electrical system and a single 12 volt battery Batteries must be securely mounted and if inside the driver’s compartment or trunk must have a corrosion resistant cover ( i.e. marine case). G.16 Fuel cells only. Cells must be securely mounted and protected by an adequate metal box, securely mounted between the frame rails at the front of the rear compartment. Fuel cell may be mounted no lower then the center of the rear axle tubes. No pressure tanks allowed. G.17 All cars must be equipped with 2 tow hooks, one front and one rear. Hooks are to be of strength to support the weight of the vehicle under tow either with wheels raised or on the ground. G.18 SFI rated, cloth window safety nets must be used, with a top latch quick release. G.19 DOT approved Safety Helmets (Snell approved recommended) must be worn at ALL TIMES vehicle is on track. (Except Modified division, see Modified rules) NOTE: Painting of or paint on a helmet voids certification. Tape letters/numbers are permitted. G.20 All cars are required to have an approved helmet restraint. A minimum of a neck brace required. Any other system must be approved by Tech. G.21 All vehicles must be equipped with 4 wheel brakes in working order. G.22 All vehicles must be equipped with driveshaft loops front and rear to retain the shaft in the event of u-joint breakage. All drive shafts must be painted white in all divisions. G.23 An engine kill switch is mandatory on all cars. Switch to be clearly marked on / off. G.24 No slung weight may be close enough to track that in the event of a flat tire, the weight would touch the track surface. All weight must be painted white, securely mounted in the opinion of Tech, and own car number painted on weight. G.25 No chopped bodies or suspensions allowed. G.26 Ride height must be appropriate for division and make of car.
Section 4 Engines
G.27 Water only for engine coolant. No antifreeze or other cooling additives are permitted. G.28 Dry sump lubrication systems are not permitted. G.29 Electric fuel pumps are not permitted. (Street Stock and Modified) G.30 Metal fuel filters only. No plastic filters allowed. G.31 Steel fuel lines and MINIMAL amounts of rubber fuel line only (No copper lines). G.32 Engines must be self-starting. G.33 Engines must remain in STOCK mounting location (except Modified division, see Modified rules). G.34 No Fuel Injection Systems (including feedback carburetors). G.35 No hood scoops/ram air systems allowed. G.36 No high performance ignitions permitted. G.37 No Nitrous Oxide, NOS, Nitrous devices or plumbing allowed. G.38 No cool cans allowed on fuel system.
Section 5 Tires
G.39 No soft compound tires. No treating tires to soften compound. G.40 No winter tires or light truck tires permitted. G.41 No retread tires permitted.
Section 6 Miscellaneous
G.42 Unless otherwise specified, no transmitting or listening devices of any kind allowed in car at any time the car is on track property during a race meet. This is a 50 point penalty. G.43 No traction control / traction aid systems of ANY TYPE permitted. G.44 Track officials may check car at ANYTIME car is on Raceway Park property. G.45 Anything not specified as being allowed must be STOCK. G.46 STOCK parts are those manufactured for the normal family sedan, not taxis, police cars. .
