Pit Regulations Section

 

P.1          A “Race Meet” shall, for the purpose of rule enforcement be considered to be the period between the opening of the pit gate for car registration which will be 3 hours prior to race time and the relinquishment by all officials of their authority over the track and pit area, or a time when all participants have left the premises, whichever occurs first.

P.2         All cars must be registered with the Chief Scorer at least 1 hour prior to the beginning of the first race. Any cars which arrive at the track after this time will be put to the back of the appropriate class according to the points average.

P.3         Children under the age of 16 years of age, and any person not holding a valid pit pass are not permitted into the pit area.

P.4          Not more than one tow or service vehicle is permitted in the pit area with each car entered and any vehicle which enters the pit area does so at the risk of their owner.

P.5         No-one may ride on any part of the vehicle, or inside of the vehicle with the exception of the driver. Driver must be seated properly in position.

P.6         Any person who drives a vehicle in an unsafe or irresponsible manner within the pit area shall be penalized as follows:

 

1st Offense -    Car will start at the back of the field for the next race.

2nd Offense -   Car will not be allowed to participate in the next race.

3rd Offense -    Car will be suspended for remainder of race meet, and next race meet.

 

P.7         No driver may drive a car from the pit area onto the track while the red flag or light is displayed except to go directly to his place in the starting line-up.

P.8          In Street Stock or Modified, the Pit Stewart must be notified before any driver, other than the registered driver takes a car onto the track to begin a race. This car must start at the back of the class to which it fits for the race or for as long as the non-registered driver is in the car. Failure to notify the Pit Stewart will result in disqualification and loss of points and money for the race.  In four fun, there is no restriction on drivers, however a Modified or Street-Stock driver may not drive a four fun car at anytime.

P.9          Jack stands or equivalent must be used in the pits. Anyone caught under a vehicle without proper safety support to hold up the vehicle will be suspended for that race event and the following race event. (If you’re lucky)

P.10       Any car owner, driver or crew member found to be in possession or under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be immediately suspended for the remainder of the race meet. Penalties for repeated violation of this rule shall be as follows:

2nd Offense - Suspension for one race meet.

3rd Offense - Suspension for a period of one calendar year.

The car owner has total responsibility for the conduct of all his crew members during a race meet.

 

P.11       Any car owner, driver, crew member, or anyone signed under the car who participates in a fight, for any reason, shall be immediately suspended for the remainder of the race meet and the next race meet. The car is also suspended for the same period. Applies to rule P.9 also.

P.12       Any driver, car owner, or crew member who strikes or physically abuses, or in any way obstructs or interferes with the authorized duties of any official, staff, or management of Raceway Park will be suspended from racing and barred from Raceway Park for a period of at least one calendar year.

P.13       Any driver, car owner, or crew member who verbally abuses any of the people mentioned in the above rule will be dealt with by the track management. The penalty will be contingent upon the nature and severity of the abuse but may include loss of points for the night, loss of money for the night and/or fine, or a suspension from the track for a period of time.
