Race Line-Up Section

L.1        Starting positions shall be determined on the basis of points average (total points accumulated divided by the number of race meets attended) as tabulated by the Chief Scorer.

L.2        A list of cars in each class and their starting positions will be posted in the pit area before the beginning of each race. Drivers should get into the habit of checking or having someone check the LINE-UP Board well before they race so that they will know who they are supposed to be in front of and behind, before they report to the Pit Stewart for line-up. Failure to do so may result in your starting at the back of the pack because of lateness.

L.3        All Classes will line up according to the following procedure

Heat Races will be 2 even classes divided by points average with the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, etc points average in HEAT # 1, and the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, etc best points average in HEAT # 2.

Semi Races will have a low points average class and a high points average class.

The First Semi will have half of the registered field with the lowest points average, and the Second Semi will have the half of the registered drivers with the highest points average.

The Features will line-up according to points average coming into the night’s racing.

L.4        ALL RACES will be lined up according to REVERSE POINTS AVERAGE.

L.5        STARTING POSITIONS FOR THE FIRST EVENT of a racing season will be determined by a draw to be made by the Chief Scorer and the Lap Counter before the first race. Heat and Semi races will be lined up according to this draw. The line-up will be totally reversed for the features.

The races cannot be delayed for late cars. The signal to start the pace lap will be turning off the red light, leaving the yellow light on only. As the cars start the pace lap they will form two lines abreast as follows – 1st car goes to the inside, 2nd car goes to the outside beside the first car, 4th car goes to the outside, beside the 3rd and so on.

L.6        In Street-Stock and Modified classes, “Rookies” will be required to start at the back of the field until they have demonstrated to the judges that they are capable of safely assuming their starting position.

L.7        A Rookie is a driver who has not competed in a particular class for a season during which he/she has participated in at least 50% of the race dates.

L.8        The first time a car comes to the track, it starts at the back of the pack for the night. First time driver to a car for the year starts at the back of the pack for the entire race meet. (In Four Fun, this is true only for the car, not the driver) In order to be considered an “experienced driver” in Street-Stock or Modified the person must have raced at least 2 races in a previous race meet during which he/she was the registered driver.

L.9        Any cars that leave the pits after the pace lap has started must fall in at the rear.

L.10      After viewing cars/drivers on the track during practice, heats, or semi’s, track officials have the right and may direct any car to start at the back of the pack. This is a right held by track officials during the whole season and would be made by the officials for the safety of all drivers as well as to save on equipment and repairs.
