Track Rules Section

T.1        If the cars are spread out too far, or for any reason are not properly placed, the starter will display the yellow flag to indicate that they must go around once more. It is the responsibility of the inside front row driver to set the pace lap speed. When the cars are properly placed, he may increase speed as they approach the starting line. Drivers are reminded that they must stay in line, and not pull out to pass, until the green flag and light is displayed.

T.2        Any car that delays or otherwise hinders the start or restart of a race due to the driver not being familiar with the line-up procedure, or the car not being self-starting  may be placed at the rear of the line-up.

T.3        Any car or driver who is unable, unwilling, or who simply does not keep up to the car in front of him or her during a restart may be asked, by the Starter, to go to the back of the pack and all cars behind him/her move up one-position.

T.4        The flags and signal lights used, and the meaning of each, shall be as follows:

(A)                Yellow Flag or Light – stop racing, the field will be lined up according to the last complete green flag lap.

(B)                 Red Flag or Red Light – Track is unsafe, race is stopped, come to a safe stop as quickly as possible. Anyone who disobeys the red flag will receive a black flag for the race and may be suspended for the rest of the race meet.

(C)                 White Flag – One lap remaining in race.

(D)                 Checkered Flag – End of Race.

(E)                 Black Flag – Disqualification, go to the pits, rule violation.

(F)                 Black Flag/Yellow Dot – Mechanical defect. Go to the pits.

(G)                Blue/Yellow Stripe – You are being lapped. Move to the inside lane as soon as it is safe to do so

T.5        Any driver who starts racing before the green flag and\or light is displayed may be set back at the finish of the race.

T.6        Any driver who disregards or disobeys the “lapping” flag may be disqualified.

T.7        When the yellow flag and/or light is displayed, all cars will stop racing. The race will resume with the cars being lined up according to the finish of the last complete green flag lap. Cars involved in the incident will be required to start at the back.

T.8        Any driver who continues to race at speeds unsafe under the circumstances when the yellow flag is being displayed will be sent to the pits for the remainder of the race.

T.9        Any driver who disregards or disobeys the red flag and/or light at any time during a race meet, whether during a race or practice, shall be penalized as follows for each offense:

During Race – Disqualification for the race being run.

During Practice – Disqualification for the first heat.

T.10      There shall be no restarts because of a spin out or collision if the cars are right side up, the track is not obstructed, and no-one is injured. However, the Starter may stop the race at any time if, in his opinion, someone may be injured or any unsafe condition exists.

T.11      All restarts will be “doubled up” in the same manner as the start of a race, with the same penalties in effect for jumping the green flag as at the start of the race. The flagman may, for special reason start or restart cars in single file.

Lapped cars will be lined up at the back of the pack and will be ineligible to win the race unless they unlap themselves.

T.12      All cars are required to complete one “cool down” lap after the checkered flag and must leave the track in an orderly fashion. (Exception – a car with mechanical problems that has already slowed down may exit at a very reduced speed.)

Violation of this rule will result in the car starting at the back of the field for the next race.

T.13      On track driving infractions may result in set-backs or black flags during or at the end of the race.

T.14      Any driver who goes the wrong way for a victory lap or does a doughnut will loose points and money for that race.

T.15      Any driver who drives in an irresponsible manor before, during, or after a race will be penalized as judges see fit.

T.16      Any incident which is considered by the officials to be a deliberate attempt to cause injury or damage shall result in the driver being penalized as follows depending on the severity of the offence:

(A)                Suspension for the remainder of the race meet and if during or after the feature, suspension for the heat race of the following event.

(B)                 Car and driver suspended for the remainder of the race event and the following race event.

(C)                 Penalty will be at the discretion of the officials.

T.17      Any car that receives a black flag (not a mechanical black) will be required to start at the back of the field for the next race only.

T.18      Deliberate failure to obey the black flag, the Flag Man has to stop the race to get rid of the car being flagged, will result in suspension from the next race.

T.19      If the black flag occurs in the feature, then the car will be required to start at the back of, or miss the heat race of the next race date.

T.20      All repairs should be made in the pits between races.

Disabled cars should go to the pits if possible rather then remaining in the infield.

If a disabled car goes to the infield, they must get as far as possible from the racing surface and the driver must remain in the car with his/her helmet and seat belt on until the race is completed unless it is unsafe to do so because of fire or otherwise instructed by track personnel.

The track maintenance crew may, on occasion bend or remove sheet metal to try and keep cars safe and on the track but no driver or crew member is permitted to do any work on a vehicle while it is on the track surface.

The violations listed below will result in the car receiving a black flag for the race and being required to start at the back for the next race.

            - Removing helmet or safety belts in a disabled car under green flag

- Getting out of a disabled car for no apparent reason before the race is completed. (If there is a stoppage in the race and there is a chance to have your car towed off the track, then you may do so. Otherwise, stay in your car. You are safer there than outside your car in the centerfield.

- The driver must stay with his or her car until the car leaves the track or otherwise instructed by the track officials.

- The driver must leave his/her belts and helmet on during the victory lap. They may be removed for pictures in victory lane but not before.

T.21      Any vehicle leaving the track during a race may not return to the track to complete the race.

T.22      Top 5 feature winners and top 3 heat winners must report directly to scales. Driver must keep belts fastened and helmets on (or sitting on drivers lap) and sit upright in proper location. No prizes, trophies, etc in car. Zero tolerance and if car light, car will be backed off scales, scales recalibrated and race car weighed again – but only once.

T.23      Cars may not stop anywhere in the Pits after a race on their way to the scales.

Cars must meet weight specifications after all races. If the car is damaged, a pit person will retrieve missing parts and take to the scales for that race only.

T.24      When cars are being teched in the Tech Shed, track officials, the driver, and one pit person are the only ones allowed in the building unless the officials request someone else. Violations would result in a 25point penalty for the car being teched.

T.25      A car caught for illegal tires or for a weight infraction will lose points and money for that race.

T.26      A car caught during the race for MAJOR INFRACTION (engine or suspension) will be subject to loss of points and money for the race event and the appropriate “penalty”.

                -PENALTY-

                1 Major Engine        150 pts

                2 Major Suspension 100 pts

3 Minor Engine or Suspension 50 pts or 25 pts

T.27      A car caught for a SAFETY INFRACTION will receive a written warning. If it returns not fixed, it will start at the rear of the field until the safety problem is fixed.

T.28      All penalty points are deducted at the time rather then having them come off at the end of the year. If you are penalized 100 points, we go back over the past races (2, 3, or4) to take off the needed points. If you have less then 15 points left for a race event after a penalty, then those points are also subtracted and added onto the previous week’s race. That means that no-one would have a week’s total of 6 or 7 points which would give them an unfair starting position because of points average.

T.29      Any infractions not outlined in this book will be dealt with at the time of discovery. Penalties will be decided depending on degree of infractions in the eyes of the tech officials.

T.30      Any car with illegal engine or suspension parts at a race event will lose “penalty” points (see T.26) even if that car has not raced.

Any car caught “illegal” must be re-teched before being allowed to race again.

T.31      Track officials reserve the right to conclude any feature if insufficient progress is being made toward the conclusion of the race.

T.32      Feature races will be considered complete if more than 50% of the posted laps are completed. Any race that is considered completed without completing all laps will have a finish order of the restart line-up in the case of an accident or of the last green flag lap if stopped for unusual conditions.

T.33      Raceway Park officials have the power to make decisions as they see necessary in relation to improper conduct or situations and penalize as they see fit.
